Newtown Mission Drop-In Centre:

Newtown Mission offers our local community a Drop-In Centre where people from all walks of life can come & relax, meet with people, make friends, seek help and support or a meal. The Mission is not about charity but about caring for others. All programs are based around this Christian value- Loving God and loving others. The Mission is an opportunity for community to grow. Volunteers are mainly locals but people travel from all over the city to join in the meals program.

In the Heart of Newtown with Newtown at Heart: Compassion is the heart of our Drop-In Ministry. Vision and direction is driven from a passion to see our community become a place of healing and peace based on the teachings of Christ. We endeavor to provide services and welfare for people in the Newtown and Inner City area.

Our church takes seriously the Bible’s call from: Isaiah 61: 1-2;
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners.

The Newtown Mission Drop In Centre is open each Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday between 1-3p for GREAT and FREE) LUNCH, Hot drink and a friendly chat. On Thursday nights from 6pm, Pastor Brian and the team run a Thanksgiving Service held in our King St, Chapel followed by home-style meal in the Hall from 6.3p!!

Drop-In Bible Study is a friendly and diverse group of people who meet each WEDNESDAY @ 11AM in the Hall & is open to everyone. This intimate group enjoys fellowship, learning biblical principles and sharing in Worship.

A Free Legal Service has been established in conjunction with ‘Dibbs & Barker Lawyers’ and is available each Friday from 1.30 -2.30p (NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY)!!

Newtown Mission VOLUNTEERS help run the DropIn Centre and assist with food prep and serving each meal to our Clients, along with kitchen duties and various other tasks – we are SOOO thankful for their faithful service!!
