Sunday in Newtown
We get together in the magnificent Chapel at 280 King St, underneath the Revelation Ceiling and with the beautiful light from the stained glass windows. Our meeting is generally informal, and usually involves a strong time of praise and prayer with singing, sharing time, and engagement with the Bible.
Children are welcome at Newtown Mission. There’s a Crèche & a program for school aged kids, which begins after a time of praise.
On the first Sunday of the month we get together with the Tongan Fellowship for a special bi-cultural worship celebration. We share Communion together as part of this combined gathering – children are welcomed to participate in Communion with a parent or carer. It’s also a time for enjoying wonderful singing from the Tongan choir.
5PM – Mission Nights
We are people who gather around the person and work of Jesus, from all walks of life.
Our gatherings are informal and interactive, with space for the Spirit to work. We seek to be a community where everyone belongs and everyone can contribute, as we learn to follow in the radical ways of Jesus.
When we gather, we create space to express worship, engage with Scripture, hear stories, connect with each other, pray together and be equipped to join in God’s mission, the restoration of all things.
Our 5pm gatherings are followed by a meal together, sometimes on site and sometimes out in Newtown. All are welcome around the table!
