Alert: The Jordan Cafe will now be providing takeaway meals only for the time being! We will be open the usual times Tuesday, Wedneday, Friday (1 – 3 pm) and Thursdays (6 – 8 pm), but there will be no sit-down meal service but instead we will offer takeaway meals, tea / coffee and the offer of support. Please also note, all our other related Jordan Cafe activities: Monday Nights, Lunchtime Bible Studies, Find-Out Fridays and Thursday Night Chapel will stop for the time being. We will keep you up to date!

Compassion

Here at Newtown Mission we are called to live out God’s Compassion into our community, as we have been doing for generations past:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Jordan Cafe

We share meals together as a community at the Jordan Café, lunchtimes Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and dinner on Thursday night. We meet around a meal but more importantly we share life together as a community. Together, we share the struggles and joys we face in life. In doing so, God’s presence and love are experienced mightily.

Community Care Centre

We aim to care for our community through many different ways. We are called to support those who are struggling in our community. We provide this support through meals at the Jordan Café but also emergency food assistance, financial assistance, legal services, referrals, counselling and a host of other ways.

Join Us!

The Compassion Ministry here at Newtown Mission is only possible through the great Team we have here. We have individuals and groups who contribute their time, finances and gifts to the ministry and the Community. There are also a network of valued partners who help contribute food, supplies, services and finances. There are plenty ways of joining us, so please get in contact with us.

I’m new.
