Rev. Andrew Johnson
Rev. Andrew Johnson is a minister in the Uniting Church in Australia and serves as Senior Minister at Newtown Mission in Sydney. Before coming to Newtown, he was the ministry leader at Hope Uniting Church and chaplain at the University of New South Wales. Andrew has a passion for thoughtful theology, community engagement, and exploring how faith speaks into contemporary life.

Margaret is the Business and Operations Manager at Newtown Mission. She brings many years of experience working across the church, political, and legal sectors, offering strong leadership and operational expertise. Margaret is passionate about supporting the mission of the church through effective governance, organisation, and community engagement.

Creative and strategic in equal measure, Sarah is the Communications Manager at Newtown Mission, where she leads storytelling, digital engagement, and community communications. Sarah is passionate about connecting people through meaningful stories and highlighting the work of communities committed to justice, compassion, and creative faith.

Creative Arts CoordinatorJulia joined Newtown Mission in late 2025 as the Creative Arts Coordinator, supporting the Church to manage its events and steward its vibrant creative life. With a background that bridges contemporary art, community outreach, and education, she blends practical and creative expertise to support creative communities to thrive. She is passionate about the power of art to connect people across all walks of life and to build collective resilience.

Kitchen CoordinatorSini has been part of the Newtown Mission community for many years and serves as the Kitchen Coordinator at the Jordan Café. Bringing a wealth of kitchen experience, Sini oversees the preparation of more than 300 meals each week, helping provide nourishing food and care to the wider community with dedication and compassion.

Student MinisterMikali is the new Student Minister at Newtown Mission, bringing a passion for faith, creativity, and community. Alongside ministry, Mikali has a strong musical background and recently released a debut EP, reflecting a love for music and storytelling through the arts.
Community Development Program CoordinatorSarah M
Sarah has been working as the Community Development Coordinator at Newtown Mission since late 2023. She is passionate about listening to and sharing the stories of others, helping to strengthen connections across the Newtown Mission community. Sarah supports the life of the Jordan Café and works closely with community members, volunteers, and visitors to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. She enjoys building relationships and helping people feel connected, supported, and valued within the community.
Melanie
Office ManagerMel began serving as the Office Manager at Newtown Mission in April 2026. She grew up in the Uniting Church and now worships as part of a Baptist community. For over twenty years, Mel has served the Kingdom working across a range of church-based organisations across several denominations. She has a love for Asian cuisine and enjoys exploring the world whenever she has the opportunity.
